Just hearing about this house sale in Sunnyvale down here in Santa Monica. Had to look for the house and here it is. I lived in San Jose in the mid 80's and was shocked at the prices and no Ocean:

Yes... Good neighborhood, and relatively big lot. They will probably add two bedrooms and second bath to it.

6000 SF lot is about as small as you will find in that area, so no, it's not a big lot. Buyer overpaid by several $100k.

A single young tech is the new owner. Stock market doing good, so lots of young tech with lots of stock options. No surprise here, happened in dotcom era.

Yikes I thought it would be a tear down for some very rich from the middle east. That tech world and so much money and so many starving....so so lopsided. j

There's no such thing as overpaid in the Bay Area. We're way past the "overpay" level at this point.

So we're not longer blaming Chinese investors?

Not a fan of Sunnyvale in general. Yes, the school district is good, but the community is so bleh. I guess people will pay anything to live near tech jobs nowadays. SMH
