I've heard that Trader Joe's was supposed to be in there, then I heard a rumor about Whole Foods. I think the space would move faster if it were a series of smaller spaces.

It's just too large and somehwat off the beaten path, so the big anchor stores are reluctant.

agreed. Trader Joes is already in Pleasanton so I don't see them moving since they are close to Dublin and the freeway. It's going to have to be smaller stores that become part of the community there. Maybe dance or ecercise studios, small eateries, and businesses where people will come to them despite location versus stores that depend on drive by traffic.

When I drove by today, I saw a sign for a new Sushi place that is going in there. There is already a cleaners. I'm wondering what will go in the large store, which is the size of a grocery store.

I think they should subdivide it into smaller units because no major store would want to be off the beaten track. Speaking of which-what's going on at Stanley and Valley? I think home depot got shut down ( good) but I heard maybe a longs might go in.

I am in the process of looking for a townhome or a house for rent so all your posts were so very helpful.
I want to rent for a little while to get to know the town better before I consider buying anything. I think 6 months to a year should do it. And the way the housing market has been I am not sure if it's a good time to buy now.

Does anyone know about the Heads up (Hacienda) School? Any input would be appriciated.

There has not been a better time to be a renter in 25 years. In CA, sales are up 2%, but median home prices dropped 30% just this month. If you are in the market, think long term and if you are not, wait till median home prices stabalize/flattten for a few quarters.

The best place to find rentals is Craig's List. It seems to be the only place people advertise in fact....I'm not familiar with the school you mentioned, but you would be hard pressed to find a subpar or even an average school at any level in Pleasanton. They are all pretty much excellent.

That's the tradeoff for the commute.

Hi,
We live near fairlands School and we Love our neighbourhood(meadows).People are very friendly. Its been 10 years since we lived in pleasanton. After living in
Sunnyvale, milpitas, santa clara and Fremont, finally we thought Pleasanton is the
better place to settle and have family.

In pleasanton, all the neighbourhoods and the down town is great. We like especially the farmer's market on sat. Wednesday street parties, wine tasting etc. even our dog loves to walk in the downtown. The tully's Coffee joint is very nice. Having Ice cream
in summer and hot coffee in the winter is another nice thing.

In other words, I LOVE PLEASANTON.And I am very happy to have my hometown as PLEASANTON

Not sure. Bernal becomes Valley when it crosses Stanley right (I'm still kinda new here)?

The McDonalds/AM/PM is there on the corner. I'd hate to have another Home Depot. I one we have now leaves much to be desired, so I use the new Lowes in Dublin - which rocks.
