Are there any places in SJ that are fun like San Diego's Gaslamp/PB/OB? Thanks.

There won't be anything that caters to the same crowd as there aren't as many college-age people in the area. Los Gatos and Santana Row probably come close, but it's not a scene with which I'll ever be familiar.

Downtown San Jose is packed at 11 pm on Friday and Saturday nights along San Fernando. On Thursday nights during the summer, 1000s come to the free concerts in St. James park and drink in the bars afterward.

The Gaslamp's over rated in my eyes. To each their own though...

Santana Row has nice shops and bars, but is on the $$ side. DT Los Gatos can be fun as well as Downtown Campbell and DT Mountain View.

Sadly nah...I moved from San Jose to San Diego. Its like going from hell to heaven.

Well I shouldnt be so harsh on SJ, but with all the melting pot of cultures it could be a really cool area but its just sprawl. I really hope it changes someday

Hi, I was born and raised in San Jose. I now live in the Monterey Peninsual and I love it. San Jose is too conjested, and the people are always in a hurry, causes stress, stress! I hate to go to San Jose, but I have to on business. Glad when it's over, and I don't have to go there. There is no ocean, no beautiful mountains, no natural beauty, just a melting pot of mixted cultures who can't stand one another. Santa Clara Valley was wonderful when I grew up there in the 60's, at least there was space and beautiful orchards filled with fruit trees with apricots, peaches, pears and cherries. Now all you see is people and malls. Good ridence, San Jose. You can have it. I want the ocean and beautiful mountains with lots of trees and friendly people. See ya.

Satana Row has a Gaslamp feel, but it's a smaller area. You'll like it the first couple of times you go for sure, but the Gaslamp also has the Bay close by, which gives it a little more depth. Santana Row is much more like a rennovated part of a deteriorating suburb.

Not a true city feel like the Gaslamp. Downtown San Jose is coming along nicely though.
