Question Apartments in Santa Clara/SJ

Hi,
any recommendations for good, not too expensive apartments in the safe neighborhoods within 30 min drive from SJ International Airport? I am looking for a studio or 1 bd apartment for around $800-$900 a month. Is it even possible to find something decent in that range?
Thanks

I can't guarantee that you won't be able to find anything in that price range, but I recently went through an apartment search in Santa Clara myself. I limited myself to mostly the larger complexes, but pretty much everything I saw there was at least $1400 plus, most around $1600 or higher for 1-bed or studio, and I think prices are on the rise as well.

For that price range you may have to try craigslist, but I doubt you'll find anything at that range, maybe a room in a shoddy building somewhere. This is just from my personal experience, but I would guess you'd need to go up to at least $1300 before you find something decent. If anyone has more information feel free to correct me, I don't yet live in the area so my information is probably limited.

$1000 is pretty much the floor for anything bigger than a studio. You'd basically be limited to an apartment or house share - not necessarily shoddy! I rented a master suite in a nice neighborhood in Milpitas for $700 for almost a year.
