Commute from sunnyvale/Mountain view to Oakland, ca
Wondering if anyone is commuting from Sunnyvale/Mountain View area to Oakland, Ca. I wanted to know approximately how long is the commute in the AM during weekdays. Work would start at 8am. Thanks for the help.

That would be a tough commute. You'd have to take 237 to 880, and 880 is a parking lot. I'd say at least an hour and a half during rush hour.

I used to commute from oakland to sunnyyvale, and it was terrible. ItSo keep in mind this is the opposite direction. It wwas terrible. On aaverage it would take me a little less than an 1.5 hours each way. On really bad days, up to nearly 2 hrs (due to accidents). The best way is to check traffic on the web and rhope that route doesn't change. That's probably the only good thing is that you have multiple routes up due to all the bridges. On a few occatsions I was able to take the golden gate bridge i route in about an hour. d
good luck.

Golden Gate..? That's pretty far out of the way for Oakland. I hope you mean the Bay Bridge..

This is definitely not something you'll want to do. The time and frustration of that long commute alone is bad enough. Now, with gas at almost $4 a gallon, I would say avoid it if you want to maintain your sanity (and pocketbook).
