Default Commuting from Almaden to Mountain View
What would a comute time during the rush hour from Almaden to Mountain View (Middlefield Road) be?

Actaully I was wrong in my other post. It would be about 30-45 minutes during rush hour. If there is a wreck or something, expect longer. On Mapquest it says to take 87-101, but that would be hell.

I would suggest 85 North. The intersection of 85 and 280 is a little slow, as well as 85 and 237. If you can carpool, the HOV lanes are always clear.

Carpooling is definitely the way to go, on 85 more than on any other freeway I know. You'll be flying along at the speed limit, and traffic in the other lanes will be stop and go in stretches during peak hours in stretches for the entire length of the freeway down to south San Jose. If you're on 101, the carpool lanes are almost as slow as the rest of them.
