Default Campbell, Mountian View, Sunnyvale

I am planning on moving to the San Jose area into one of the following neighborhoods based on what I've been told about the area: Campbell, Moutnain View, Sunnyvale. Can anyone tell me a little about each of these areas and what to expect? I am looking for a safe area that is still close to fun places. I'll be attending San Jose State, but at the same time I want a nice neighborhood to call home. Also, if anyone has any specific apartment suggestions that would be amazing. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom for less than $1050/month. Thanks so much!

They are all very safe areas. They will all have the suburban feel to them.

Downtown Mountain View is a little more upbeat and funky. If that's what you're looking for. Not too familiary with Campbell.

Those three places would be fine and are on the VTA light rail line. As for Campbell, Welcome to Downtown Campbell. You might have a problem finding a 1 bedroom apt. "for less than $1050".

Have you thought of staying in a dorm on the San Jose State campus?

I used to live at the Country Lane Apartments (right on Saratoga Avenue and about three blocks from West Gate Mall. The rent for a small 1 BR there was about $1200. You might be able to get an apartment on Hamilton Road for around $1100. However, most rent in San Jose is going to be $1500 or more.

Campbell would be my choice. It may be slightly more expensive than the others but the little once orchard town is really turning into a mini Saratoga if you will. The city is continually growing and has the nicest people of the cities you mentioned.
If you are looking for a little more diversity, both Sunnyvale and Mountain View
are extremely diverse as fas as ethnicity goes.
