We're looking for a rental home in So. Bay, and I've been looking on craigslist.org so far. I wanted to know if anyone has any other suggestions. I've tried fogster, but there isn't a lot there...

Since we're out-of-state, would it just be easier to hire an agent? Do agents even help w/rentals? Anyone know how payment would work?

Thanks for the tips!

I went through this as well. Even called a few property managers trying to figure out which one had the most contacts. Most of them just referred me back to Craig's list.

Here's one place I liked: Bayrentals

Craigslist is pretty much the source. If you don't see them there, that's because they use the old-fashioned method of posting "apt for rent" signs on the property itself and you'll never find them by searching for them on the internet.

Sometimes real estate companies have rental listings. I know Prudential does, because they gave me a long list, but they advertise on Craigslist too..

i'm also currently looking for rentals and have relied almost exclusively on CL as well...

as for the link above, i always thought those places that charge a fee to look at their 'super-exclusive' properties with too-good-to-be-true prices were a scam and i know at least a few where the people got outdated listings and were not happy with what they got, interesting to see that at least this one gets 1 thumbs up.
