Are you happy now?? It's raining and this is the start of the rainy season. In a couple of months, you'll be asking "When is this damn rain going to stop?"

I left the area in 1992 and don't know how it is now, but when I was a kid in Milpitas in the Calavaras/Piedmont Road area we had some awesome rainstorms that seemed to last forever.

I couldn't go out and play in them, but my mom and I would sit at the kitchen table putting together a jigsaw puzzle as we watched the rain pouring outside and enjoying being together -- those were magic times.

I think those were the days of El Nina, where there was a lot of rain. Then the drought years came after that.

Over the past couple years, we have been lacking rain. I've been looking in the newspaper and we're pretty far behind from the usual rainfall for this season. I wonder how long this rain from the alaska storm will last...

Are you guys happy now? I don't mind the rain, but it has been ridiculously below average temperature-wise. Highs in the upper 40s? Wow. I'm coming back home from the midwest tomorrow, and I was hoping for some high 50's low 60s with some luck. San Jose has an average high of 60 in December.

This weather is really refreshing. I had to scrape ice off my windshield yesterday. Not just frost, but ICE!
