Question about Northpark
Hello Everyone,
Can you tell me about the Northpark area in San Jose? There are several apartment complexes (i.e, The Sycamores at North Park, The Redwoods at North Park) in this area. Is that a nice area? Are the schools safe?
Thank you in advance

It's an industrial/techie quarter which attracts a lot of workers at Cisco, Sony, etc. for convenience. I can't find which school that area would belong to; call the Center for Educational Planning at 408-453-6868.

We have been living in the North Park complex(The Pines) for the past few years.
The elementary school for this complex is Orchard Elementary School. Most of the renters here are young families, couples or corporate tenants. As their children grow older the renters tend to move out of the complex giving the impression that the school may not be very desirable.
The complex itself is great .The amenities within the apartment(Inhouse washer/dryer,alarm system, underground parking,AC/Heating sysetm) as well as the community features (huge park ,swimming pool, clubhouse, fitness centers,Starbucks,Quiznos, convenience store) are well worth the price which is at the higher end compared to nearby apartment complexes.
The above mentioned features make it a self selling complex .This has made the management complacent and rude. The apartments and community have been well maintained and hence interaction with the Leasing Office will be restricted to the Lease signings at the end of the term.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! That does help. I looked into Orchard Elementary. It doesn't have good reviews on-line. That seems to be the case with every apartment complex I find. I don't know what I am going to do. It is so frustrating trying to narrow down my search from 2000 miles away and not having a clue about any of the areas. I am only going to have three days to find a place when I come out later this month.

If you're looking for safe schools, you're going to be looking at Almaden Valley, Cambrian or Willow Glen, which are all close to one another. This apartment is in a marvelous neighborhood:
Beautiful unit, 1440 Sq Ft, wash/dry, A/C,Patio, Walk to Almaden Lake

Hi,
I'm flying out to San Jose on Friday to look at apartments. Can anyone tell me more about North Park. I made an appointment to see The Pines at North Park & The Sycamore at North Park? I'm looking for a very safe, clean area with things to do in a relatively short distance (restaurants, shopping, bars, dog parks, bike trails, farmers markets...) I'm looking for a spacious, updated 2 bed 2 bath.
I have noticed these complexes advertising a lot on craigslist, running specials.
