Hi, does anyone know where to request traffic camera video from downtown san jose? I got into an accident and want the video but not sure where to request it from. This was a local intersection. Thx

There are cameras in San Jose? Not to my knowledge.

These aren't the red light ticket cameras. Just normal traffic cameras that sit above the stop light.

Get in contact with Mr. Roadshow (Gary Richards) at the Mercury News. Probably the easiest means of getting this info, without having to wade through the bureaucracy youself.

What is with this paranoia? I don't know of any red-light cameras in Santa Clara County. There are some in SF, Millbrae, Fremont, Union City. If a city has them it's required to post large CAMERA ENFORCED signs at every major entrance to town.

What is the difference between a red light camera and a traffic camera? You get caught by both either way, right?

red light camera = automated. dispenses traffic tickets. generally not liked by the public.

traffic camera = used by local news station to report traffic jams. does not dispense tickets. generally liked by the public.
