Default Irvington District in Fremont

Hi,
we are considering buying a new built home in Fremont's Irvington district. It comes under Harvey Green Elementary school. I need any information/ opinions about the neighbourhood and the school. This new community is located at the intersection of Blacow road and Fremont Blvd and is closer to the Irvington high school. The school ratings seem to be good. How safe/family friendly is this neighborhood? We have two small kids, one will start school soon. Any inside information will be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have much specific knowledge about the schools in Irvington, but I can tell you that the Irvington district borders Warm Springs and Mission San Jose, where schools are excellent and neighborhoods are nice to incredibly nice.
There aren't really any neighborhoods in Fremont that I'd consider unsafe, but there are some dumpy ones. Irvington tends to have a higher concentration of perceived "ghettoness" than other parts of Fremont. Most of the dumpier-looking neighborhoods of Fremont are in Irvington. My fiancee lives on the fringe of Irvington at Stevenson and Fremont Blvds. and property crime is somewhat high.
With all that said, I don't feel unsafe in the area, but it's not a part of Fremont that I'd want to own a home in. The quality of life is not as good as in many other parts of Fremont and the somewhat lower-prices in Irvington don't really compensate for it.

I posted on your other Irvington thread. Like I said in the other one it's going to depend on where your coming from but I always thought Irvington was pretty nice. It's not the nicest in Fremont but it's much better then some of the areas around Cabrillo and Thornton. My other post is more detailed.

Here's the school map: http://www.fmtusd.org/16811010311020...ndance_Map.jpg

As you can see a lot of Mission and Warm springs area comes to Irvington Hr. High and High (the years that it really matters). Check the API it's improving every year, and it's in the top 10% schools.
