has anyone used REC Solar to install solar panels on their roof (purchasing)

Hi everybody,

We are considering installing solar panels on our roof considering all the rebates given by the fed and state. Has anybody used REC solar and if you have used them what is the cost to install 4.4KWH system.

what are your opinions on purchasing solar panels at this time?

Hi busymom,

RecSolar is a large company with a high profit margin, and also very experienced. Make sure you get at least three bids, and don't overlook smaller companies. Often a small company has a much lower overhead so they're able to pass that savings on to the customer, and provide a quality installation of the same panels.

Make sure you compare the PTC rating of all the bids - that will give you a better estimate of the actual tested performance of the panels instead of the DC rating (which is an estimate). The higher the PTC rating of your system the larger your rebate and the lower your electric bill.
