Default commute from san jose to san leandro or walnut creek

It looks like I might have a job lined up in San Leandro or Walnut Creek. What is the morning commute like to these places from san jose or campbell? I see posts claiming the opposite direction is horrible but nothing about going North in the morning.

880 can be bad in either direction at any time of the day for no good reason. It always seems to move, but not very quickly. 680 is significantly better in your counter-commute direction. Either way, you're probably going to have to suffer through the rough stretch of 880 between 17 and 237. There does happen to be a frequent express bus service from San Jose downtown to the Fremont BART station, if you're so inclined. That would make it very easy to get to San Leandro; Walnut Creek would be a longer ride.
