Just doing my job.
One of the duties of which is trying to keep threads on topic. This one has gone off in several directions, which is not fair to the OP who wanted to focus on questions and information about moving to Santa Fe ... not everyone's opinions about the presidential candidates.

There was discussion of water restrictions and water rights earlier. Is there a worry about the aquafer <sp>. I lived in Palm Springs area for a few years and remember reading acticles of home much the water table has dropped in the last 30 years and the rate is increasing. I was telling a friend of my interest in Santa Fe and he thought
it was a big problem there.

You are officially nuts Bradly.
Your official "Nuts" certificate is in the mail.
Expect it within 6-14 working days.

Kadub, I'm sort of in the same boat as you. This is my first post too.
I am strongly considering moving to SFe and would like to have a good idea of what I'm can expect. I am widowed and starting a new life. I have to move on a shoe string and find a job ASAP (alas my husband had no life insurance). I was his caregiver so the job scene took a definite backseat for a few years. Now I'm ready to begin and settle in to a more laid back lifestyle where the arts and nature are more appreciated.
I would be grateful if anyone can speak about availability of office or sales positions in Santa Fe and also if there are any nearby towns with jobs and/or small apts to rent in safe neighborhoods.
You ideas and perceptions would be so appreciated.
I love Santa Fe and feel Albq is not quite the right place for me.
