The Santa Fe / pueblo / Territorial achitecture and flavor is virtually all over town, isn't it? I really have not seen any other style of home, other than the pseudo-southwestern-Tuscan design of the Airport Rd. homes. All of the rest of the town that I have seen is pretty much Santa Fe in looks.
I almost wish they'd just zone the whole city for Santa Fe / pueblo / Territorial achitecture. That's part of the reason I like SF. That architecture reminds me of Native American building from perhaps 7th-12th century. I really love Native American stuff!

Here in LA you can buy ground lamb in any supermarket.
I love eating cute animals. Bambi. Thumper. I can't think of any cartoon lamb characters but I'd eat them too. Mmmm good!
Too bad rattlesnakes aren't cute. I'd probably like them too.
Had a buddy of mine that grew up with me in Santa Fe, but left to Virginia and was back on a vacation. We hit Horseman's so he could take a trip down memory lane. Apparently it's a built up resistance, because he looked like Ben Stiller in that 'spicy food' scene in Along Came Polly. Literally sweating profusely and considering not finishing the meal. I know some people like to mess around with restaurant's reputations, but Horseman's is no joke! BTW, traditionally red isn't anywhere near as hot, especially there.
I'm glad to hear it hasn't changed. I was worried after putting up a new building they might have tamed it down for the tourists. I'll make sure to get the green chili next time.
It is a city of only 65,000 people - in the grand scheme of things, a pretty small city.
Don't get me wrong, it is a very prominent, important city for being one of only 65,000. But if the CD "powers that be" started granting sub-forums to cities of >100,000 people, the forum would be incredibly cluttered.

You could make it Santa Fe County, and we'd qualify --- BUT I don't think we have enough people from SF who participate to justify a sub-forum.
IMO -- you could more easily justify a subforum for LC -- bigger and my impression that it is has more residents who are active in the forum.
Our realtor told us about the Art Walk. We should arrive in Eldorado on Saturday, so if the Art Walk is still happening on Sunday, maybe we can make it.
I am amazed at the number of events Eldorado has.
The Art Tour is fabulous! It's stunning how many great artists are "housed" and quietly working away in Eldorado. 105 artists and 69 galleries are open.
The website for information is Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association

Well...LA, yes, with several million people......but out here in the boonies, it isn't that easy to find!
I hear you on the bambi/thumper, though I won't eat wild thumper...and if I ever make a rattlesnake roundup, I will have some of that, too....I will try nearly any game once....!
I need to find a steakhouse that serves mountain oysters, too....
