The major nuclear bomb testing was done in Nevada during the 1950's and early '60's. AFAK the "Trinity" test of an implosion triggered weapon was the only nuclear bomb test in New Mexico.

Concerns of contamination from LANL, big deal..if even so.. i grew up in that area, except in the valley.. nothing is going to happen.. so there is no need for any worries. I dont think anyone will be affected i have a few family members who work in the Hazmat Department.
