Overpopulation will become a huge issue in the future. Massive amounts of human beings will overpopulate the planet, and as a result the environment will suffer. Food, water and land will become scarce commodities. Lands will be almost completely deforested, and humans in poorer countries will experience hunger, extreme poverty, lack of water and illness at an unprecedented rate. Economies in every country will be stretched to the limit, and there will be wars over farmland, water and food.
Species of plants and animals will become extinct on a grand scale. In the end, nature will revolt and take care of human beings with a massive pandemic.

Very interesting!!
I am going to throw in my two cents.
I believe / feel we will have a mass exodus of souls, due to earth calamities over the next 10 years (earthquakes, flooding, storms, climate changes, volcanic activities, solar flares, etc.)These events will occur from a pole shift, as the earth enters near and into the center the dark rift or galactic plane.
Sounds dark I know, but this is what I feel will happen. Hope I am wrong!

Impact 5-21-2009
12 weeks from today feburary 26, 2009, a celestial object measuring approximately 8 miles x 8 miles x 8 miles will appproach earth on a near collision course. The probability for impact in the western hemisphere exists, however a near miss of approximately 25 miles is more probable.

I predict that my pending move to the Santa Fe area will result in the consumption of a large volume of chili peppers and the resultant production of greenhouse gas. The impact on global warming is indeterminate...

Not to mention that the very large population of Baby Boomers will be passing on (as they are getting older and many are in retirement right now), and the fact that they didn't have many children (maybe about 2 to 3 children per couple on average).
I think the population in the industrialized nations will dwindle, and these nations will start trying to recruit workers from other less industrialized countries.
I think population increases will eventually stabalize in many countries within the next hundred years.

You're scaring the hell out of me! I hope you made that up.
I agree with the other posts, that Santa Fe and every other suitable place to live are going to get more and more people. More people are entering the country (illegal immigration) and people continue to have children.
Plan on more traffic although it depends to a degree on how the SF and NM governments deal with it. Picture downtown during tourist season. Need I say more?
Oh also, plan on less water being available. Water is going to be a problem throughout the Southwest. More people and no new water sources = less water available and higher prices.
I suspect that the population will become more Hispanic too if trends are similar to other MX adjacent states, although I didn't research this.
