The only time I was ever treated with what was clearly prejudice was in Espanola. I stopped at a gas station to buy a coke and some chips and the lady wouldn't serve me. She served about 4 people who came in after me, quite blatantly, before I realized what was going on and asked her if she was going to sell me the goods or not. With a sneer and shrug she said she would.
I got vibes in the state office where I worked but nothing to hang your hat on. The opposite, of course, is evident too. I saw it most when I was working in the southeast part of the state.
All in all though of every place I've lived NM is by FAR the least prejudiced place I've ever been.

I (an Anglo) live in the Pojoaque Valley, which is majority Hispanic, and have seen no overt hostility. Nobody stole any Spanish Land Grants in the Pojoaque Valley and the Pueblos have more land now then they did when the Anglos first came.
Has anybody ever "come up to me and ask "Why did you come here?" in a challenging tone of voice"?
