Santa Fe Job Market
Hi there. I'm contemplating a move to Santa Fe from the Northeast and was wondering about the job market in town. I could probably commute down to Albuquerque if necessary, but I've loved Santa Fe for years and would like to be able to live and work there. My background is in healthcare support, but would probably be doing some temp or short term stuff at the beginning just to get setup. I've read that New Mexico as a whole has low unemployment compared to the rest of the country, but there's also fewer people there. Does Santa Fe seem like a particularly hard place to find a job right now? Any help you can give would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Malcolm,
Welcome to the forum!
My impression from what I have observed (I am a retired RN) is that there are jobs available in Santa Fe in the health care field. Exactly what do you mean by health care support?
I would check St. Vincent's hospital or the local newspaper to see what openings you can find.

Echoing Towanda, I'd say if you're in the healthcare business it's likely they'll strew petals in your path as you enter Santa Fe. Other sectors, not so much...

Yeah, changing people's bedpans may be one of the only viable options right now....and if you are looking to live in Santa Fe, be ready to work 2 or 3 jobs to stay afloat.

Um, we *are* talking about Vinegaroon here, right?
If he wanted to, he could denigrate the fresh powder that just fell on the Santa Fe Ski Basin.
There's NOBODY who can denigrate better than our Vinegaroon.
He's pretty much made it an art form.

Methinks somebody needs their bedpan changed.

You better ease off on the Santa Fe Pale Ales then.
