Smile Thank you to everyone on this board...

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to say that I am so extremely grateful for everyone who takes the time to post helpful information here, and especially to many of the "regulars" who post so often, and are of so much help.

My family and I will be relocating to Santa Fe in late June, and this board has been beyond helpful. I've not posted much because frankly, every time I've had a question, I just do a search and there are 4 or 5 threads with the answers. Amazing!

I feel like I've gotten to know a lot of you though, just by reading your posts every day. I feel like I may even have some future friends, once we get there.

And I want to give a special mention to Towanda, whose upbeat and positive posts have done so much to make me fall even more in love with a place I was already so excited about becoming part of. We're moving to Eldorado, which I personally consider a dream come true, thanks to her!

I know no place is not without it's "issues", goodness knows there are a "few" when it comes to my home state and area, but I really believe it's what you make of it. I'm so looking forward to seasons where I formerly had none, and making the sky my ocean, and being closer to and more a part of the land. I know all that is waiting for me and more.

I hope to continue to contribute after we move, as I know Towanda has done, and give back eventually. I'm just feeling really appreciative of this board and all the great people behind the posts, so I wanted to share my thanks!

Lauren

Yes, Welcome to New Mexico and I second everything Chilegal said!! Its kinda of funny that I read your post this evening because I was outside at work today...and the sun felt so nice and warm..and there was no wind (finally) and I thought to myself... "yes...maybe the NM weather is finally here!" It'll be so great when you get here! Have a safe and stressfree move! I know many of us are transplants here...so if you have any moving questions feel free!!

Lauren,

HOORAY!!!!! You're coming!!

I am so glad you chose Eldorado because this is such a wonderful place.

Tonight we got back home from our three day weekend in Socorro.

As we drove over La Bajada Hill approaching Santa Fe, and there before us, was spread out the panorama of the city, my husband and I looked at each other and said, "We really live here!"

Even after three days, arriving home in Eldorado was just so good. We are blessed to live here, and I hope you will feel the same way.

I am so looking forward to your arrival. John and I will be anxious to meet you when you arrive. (For me, it will be fun to have more Eldorado boosters on the board. )

That's great news Lauren! I'm sure you'll love Eldorado. I like that - the sky will be your ocean--when I moved to WA I thought the ocean was my desert--wide expanses of nature with no people. I'm still enjoying being back in NM--especially when I get outside Santa Fe and feel that sense of space.

Congrats on your move to Eldorado! May you have a wonderful trip there and settle in comfortably.

Trust me, you are not alone! I've been trying for alomost 2 years now! On the bright side, there are reasons for everything. I guess the timing is just not right yet.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind replies! I'm looking forward to sharing on this board more once we get there. Right now, I'm on the outside looking in, so I'm more in "question & answer" mode, but I have REALLY appreciated all the "answerers" on this board!

Xavious Orgus - yes, we are moving at the end of June. We're going to be taking the long way (driving) while our stuff is shipped, and will arrive in the city on July 6th. Can't wait!

Fischer_girl - Yes! I can't wait to experience that New Mexico weather. We lived in Boulder, CO briefly (2 years) and how great it was to experience actual seasons... we don't get that here in So. Cal.

Towanda - YES!! I'm coming! And you can put a notch in your belt for someone actually choosing Eldorado because of your wonderful posts. I would have never considered of it, and in fact, had not heard of it -- even in my prior visits to the area -- until I read about it here. It is exactly where we want to be and I can barely contain my excitement at getting there! I have been extremely fortunate (and I am very grateful) to have been able to grow up in and live in places where I've always said, "I get to live here!", and Eldorado at Santa Fe will be among those places for me.

Dancingearth - I actually got that phrase "the sky is our ocean" from a post on the New Mexico board. I really liked it, because I have grown up with the ocean all my life, and am going to really miss it. Thinking about the sky as my new ocean is the perfect way to think about my new home.

Everyone else -- thank you for the warm welcome!

Lauren
