going to SF in June,
Hola, and greetings from South Florida. ;-)
I am going for vacation to Santa Fe in June of this year. Will be expending a couple of weeks there. Being an Internetcoholic, I was checking out the different lodging options in the area. Came across a couple of place which seem to be nice a reasonably priced, but I would like to get your expert opinions on hotels that are not too expensive, but nice to stay at.
Gracias mil.
Kari.

Call the Chamber and ask there. I cant remember the name of where is stayed, but it was across from the Gov Office and it was $200p/n and definately not worth it.The further away from the Gov Office the cheaper it seems to be.

When my wife goes to SF for work they put her up at La Posada. Not sure what the cost is but it is close to everything.

I was in Santa Fe last week and the Motel 6 was $46.00 a night, but I'm sure the prices go up in the summer. It was on Cerrillos Rd.

I've stayed at El Rey Inn on Cerillos Road a couple of times.
The accommodations and price were right for me.

I will be visiting Santa Fe next week and I have made reservations at a B and B place called "EL PARADERO" close to downtown. I found the prices and accomodations adequate for me. It's in in the Internet, check it over.

Thank you for the input. Some of the places you guys suggested are already booked for June. I will be staying at the Inn of the Governors. It looks like a nice place to stay. I also found out that Hotels in Albuquerque are a whole lot cheaper than in SF.

We have been saying it all along, that Santa Fe is a tourist town and therefore the cost of living is higher than ABQ. For the same reasons, hotels in Venice, Italy are a lot more expensive than hotels in Mestre only 20 miles away. It's the large influx of visitors that increase the demand for hotel rooms, so the hotels can raise the prices at will and will never run out of customers.

Well, yeah, the big pricey fancy hotels downtown are going to be very expensive. (I don't have any knowledge of Italy; never been there. )
I have been going to Santa Fe for 35+ years now, and I have never stayed at one of the tourist hotels downtown.
We stay out on Cerrillos Rd. in the Super 8 or the Best Western, and the prices are no different than I would pay in Kansas.
Of course Santa Fe is a tourist town and you can pay a bundle, but there ARE other options if you want lowers prices and fewer amenties.
