Dryness in Santa Fe, and Dry Eyes
What does one do in Santa Fe to deal with the Dryness. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cope with this problem. Would drinking more water every day and using eye lubricants more frequently fix the problem. I have visited Santa Fe twice this summer, love it, and we would like to purchase a home here. The dry eye issue looks to be a deal killer.

I've had pretty dry eyes my whole life and haven't noticed an issue in Santa Fe (we moved here 8 months ago). I suspect the dry eye problems you're having are just an adjustment period, and since you're only visiting for short periods of time your body doesn't fully adjust. But if all else fails, I swear by Blink eye drops.

I use "Moisture Eyes" by Bausch & Lomb. My ophthalmologist recommended it a few years ago and it works for me. You can get it at almost any Pharmacy.

The issue with my eyes are I have dry eye syndrome and have had a corneal ulcer due to the constant exposure to wind from sailing here on east coast. I also wear hard lenses because of a correction, soft lenses will not work. After the ulcer it took two years to get my eye back to normal. In a few days in Santa Fe, my eyes were all blood shot with using eye drops for seriously dry eyes. Very nervous about the move.

The "take Visine/drink water" solution works for most of us, but for your case I would suggest you consult with an ophthalmologist here in Santa Fe before making a move. Accent on Vision-Santa Fe is a good outfit that I can recommend.

I second that suggestion. Certainly anyone who already has trouble with their eyes drying out should seek professional guidance. There could well be a surgical solution if the tear ducts are somehow not functioning as they should. I know people who have had surgery to correct such conditions - unfortunately I don't have a clue how successful the surgery was.

Use baby oil on your skin to help with dry skin, you get used to it after a while, also drink lots of water! For dry eyes use Artificial tears and kind, Systane is a great brand over the counter at any pharmacy..do not use visine or any eye drop that says takes the red out.
