Cool When is the best time to look for an apt in Santa Fe?

I am planning to move there early in the year--although I am flexible timewise. Here in New Haven, being a college town, there seems to be a definite apartment hunting season--late spring, early summer. Would it be advantageous to look in SF in winter? Early spring? Are there any trends I should be aware of? Basically I would be looking in the $1000 range.

Probably better in the winter. The summer has the opera and many visitors. Some who rent for an extended period of time.
