Now that we have a vacation home in Venice, I am looking forward to the 4th of July in there. I know from years past how crazy Sarasota is! Our house isn't on the island, so where should we go to see the fireworks and what time to get there? Thanks!
Summer

If jetty parking is closed, where are we supposed to park. We all know how limited parking on the island is. I guess we get there very early and walk to our destination.....

I would think you could see them from Nokomis Beach area or the Coast Guard beach area near Sharkeys.

There are fireworks at Blind Pass Beach (middle beach) on Manasota Key for the South County and Englewood crowd.

parking is going to be really bad though--because people will be at the beach long before the fireworks start

our daughter and sil still have their condo on the island--so they are planning on parking there and probably biking down closer if they decide to go...
but if anyone tries parking in that lot in an open space then they are going to get ticketed or worse--their HOA watches for people going to Venice beach right across the street basically and parking in their lot anytime--not just special days...

We went last year and parking was not bad at all. We parked on the street maybe 300-400 yards from the beach. I think we got there about an hour before sunset.

We ended up going to the Venice fireworks about 30 minutes before they started and parked on the street 2 blocks away. Was a quick walk. Great display and were able to get out quickly afterwards. So much easier than any fireworks we have here in Ohio!

I hear you. We are from Ohio also. We ended up getting a space in the beach parking lot. Afterward, we got to the car and got off the island before anyone else was even back to theri cars.
