Hi,
Since mid June I've had this issue with my soffit outside my balcony. I have a screened in balcony and my Association is refusing to do anything about it. A bird nest was built which caused me to have bird feces left on my balcony. They've told me I'm responsible for cleaning it up. I have been calling my condo President consistently asking her when this will be resolved. I understand the balcony is mine and the railing should be my responsibity, but the nest is build inside the soffit which is causing the siding to be lowered. They need to address this. Unfortunately, we hired a Management company and the President is unprofessional and rude. My cousin called both the President and the Management lady. The Management lady was making fun of him. Where can I make a complaint at? We should have rights I'm paying $211.00 a month and getting no maintenance. Who knows where the money is going to? She could be taking it all for all we know.

If they've told you already that you are responsible, why are you still hounding the board member? Just hire someone who is licensed and insured to fix it. Remember, you may need to have the work approved by the board before you have it done. Check with the community manager first.

If you have found something in your condo docs that clearly and specifically shows that it is not your responsibility, email the community manager and provide him or her with that information. Then attend the next board meeting.

I'd say most likely yes. Maybe there is an appeals process, if someone is unable to attend.

Usually there are documents that answer everything you are asking. If you're renting, ask your landlord to get them.
