I just reread this article and cannot help but think that we should send the 6 million dollar bill directly to the two groups at fault: Sarasota Citizens for Responsible Government and Citizens for Sunshine. I hope they are willing to compensate the hardworking citizens of the county for the amount this frivolous lawsuit has cost us.

Some things about Sarasota never change - this type crap is one of them. My husband and I used to get SO frustrated when we lived here the first time (many years ago) because of all the "CAVE" people - Citizen's against virtually everything! Remember the "Bridge Too High" people? How about the years long fight about where to put the new library? And on and on.

That's funny that you brought up the "CAVE" people. That is the second time I heard that reference this week, and I had never heard it before. Great Term! I'm going to try to remember to keep that in my repertoire. Maybe when you finally come to a meet up (don't chastise me yet for not setting a date), we can schedule some vocabulary lessons to help me out. Of course, I believe I learn better after a couple yeunglings (they relieve anxiety that I have and makes me more out going and charming), and equally important is that you bring a cattle prod (electric works best) because I get easily distracted and you need to keep my attention focused.
. . . OK, now I know I'm going to have a fun day, because I'm sitting here laughing to myself.
