Well, it is not in Sarasota, but St Pete has a place, sorry, can't fully remember, but it is right
in town, called something like Joey's NY style pizza. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I am not
a big pizza eater, but this was AWESOME. It is right in the main small section of town.
Very good.

I think there are actually three Rico's, the other being north of downtown. I'm not really sure how related they are. I know that each one issues it's own coupons and will not accept the others. The first I went to was the one in Gulf Gate and it was pretty good, but not very family friendly. I now go to the one on Bee Ridge. So far, it's the best pizza, along with Demetrio's, we have found in town.

If you are in that area, try Country Inn Pizza. Not NY style, but great pizza.

Wow ,8 pages of pizza comments so far! I am not from New York but Pizza Vito on Tamiami claims to be New York style. We got it the other day and 4 out of 4 liked it. It's a nice small store with several tables and a good variety. They also sell it by the slice so you wouldn't have to buy a whole pizza to find out.

It's confusing I know.

This website is for Rico's Pizzeria & Pasta House which has three locations:

Rico's Pizzeria & Pasta House ~ Eat My Pie!

Whereas this website is for Rico's Pizzeria, a fourth location, and I believe it's a seperate business:

Rico's Pizzeria :: Gulfgate Ave :: Sarasota, FL

A previous poster said second one on gateway is the good one.

what's not family-friendly about the place on gulf gate? we went there and the one on bee ridge, both were good enough pizza. haven't tried Demetrios. That place has gyro too right? looking for a good gyro, only been to El Greco so far. (which DH didn't like at all and i thought was just OK)
