Can anyone recommend a kid-friendly vacation rental on Siesta Key for a 5-day stay straddling Memorial Day ? Gulfside would be nice, but I assume the best ones are already taken ? Our requirements would be the price between $700-1000, 1/2 bedroom (we have 1 small child), pool, fridge in room, close to beach & restaurants & CLEAN. Thanks !

Okay, now don't anyone yell at me here
since I haven't vacationed in Sarasota for a very long time, but[URL="http://www.alohakai.net/"] I stayed here [/URL]and it was very nice. Looks as if the villas are in your price range too.
You'll have to ask the locals if they've heard any recent complaints, but it was like having my own little cottage on the Gulf. I don't know if I'd be happy with a villa close to Midnight Pass Road, but I was about 3 units from the beach and it was pretty quiet.

Siesta Sands!! There are 2 of them,,,non affiliated, but the one that I know which is closest to the village has all the annemities that you are requesting! Each one is privately owned and very clean. They have weekly cleaning people come in and the manager is very picky and makes sure they do a great job. It is right on the gulf too!

We LOVE the Island House! There are 1000 sq ft villas, larger condos and a couple of duplexes to choose from. We have gone back there every year since 2002 and we will be there again in June. The people are wonderful and the units are very clean, nice pool, game room, and of course, right on the beach.
