What is the development status of Granada Park in Sarasota? From what I read, the original developer pulled out so is the area at a standstill? There are a few reasonable priced homes there not knowing if it's worth pursuing.

The original developer of Granada Park went bankrupt. New owners have just bought the development. They are interviewing 3 different builders to finish off the development. I believe there are around 10-11 homes currently there, they will be building 6 more homes +/- and a few townhomes as well.

The prices are all over the board in there right now. There's a bank owned one at $291k and two short sales at $300k & $850k and then a regular sale at $999k.

Is it your sense that the new development will maintain property values or will the new buildings be all over the place just to finish the project?

I think the new owners will turn it around but of course this is just speculation. From what I understand they are spending quite a lot of time interviewing builders.

In the original description of Granada Park it mentioned a pool and fitness center to be incorporated in it's future plans-do you know if this was just a dream before it went under?

I was told there is going to be a pool (nothing is set in stone yet) but if they do put a fitness center in it won't be anything fancy. Their thinking on that is that if you are serious about fitness then you'll go to the nearby Bath & Racquet and if you're not then you'd be OK with something smaller. They probably won't do a fitness center though.
