We just bought a house in April and went through some of the same questiosn.
The insurance company you use will depend on where your house is located, you will have significant difficulty finding someone if you are on or near water ..All the big companies have bailed out of waterfront insurance and you WILL have a significant sticker shock buying home insurance in FL (We pay $600 a yr for a house in MI, triple in size and quality) We went with Ark Royal which gave us the best deal, still its close to $3000 (someone plz tell me I got ripped off and there is a $1000 option out there
).
For Internet/tv/cable we signed up with Verizon FIOS ($99 a month triple play with rates locked in for 2 yrs) and I am loving it.
We are looking for some help with recommendation regarding Cage/boat dock builder. Will appreciate some recommendations.

I too need help since we are going to be closing soon, and we were hoping to put a pool in although there is a community pool. We don't want to spend much more than 20k doing it and want everything! So anyone who knows of someone offering a discount for inground pools w/lanai around Manatee County would be great!
