I don't get it. How are you paying cheaper? I just moved to Venice from NY 3 months ago. I have been with Geico for over 21 years. Moved here and my same policy went up. I have a perfect clean driving record. Hmmm, something is wrong.

NYPhinfan13 - if you don't mind me asking, could you give me your policy stats?

I'm not sure what my coverage is off hand on bodily injury, damage, etc., but I have 2 cars both SUVs. One is a lease. My deductible is $250, rental car reimbursement is $30/day. I'll be going from $190/month to $155/month. Also, you need to figure in your daily commute to work. I estimated 25 miles per day for both cars. We do not use our cars for work purposes, just to commute back and forth.

I think a lot of it has to do with your zip code and healthcare costs.

Hmmm, maybe it has something to do with zip codes. We were paying in Metro NY for a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe $778 for a 6 month policy. Now here in Venice we are paying $791 for a 6 month policy. I guess I should shop around but given that I have been with Geico for so long I thought it would be best.

Check with Traveler's and AAA. Both quoted cheaper for me.

well, i've got the higher deductible, maybe that's it. $500 deductible. I'd rather pay the extra $250 when I have a problem instead of having a more expensive policy. i am in Osprey and it's $525/6 mo and a 6 yr old minivan. i estimated 8000 miles a yr. jeez, can u believe i was paying $340 more a yr?

Well, I am going with Met Life. I saved $469 per year. So happy!
