We looked at PODS and they were 2x the cost of ABF Freight. www.upack.com) I was going to go with Penske, but for $200 more, ABF did all the driving, so we didn't have to drive a 26ft loaded truck 1,400 miles.

Are you talking about these? Whatever you do, be sure to check with your landlord first to make sure you aren't inadvertently violating any HOA rules or rules he/she may have for the property.

Congratulations! It's going to be a few more months before we (Sue in Ohio & myself) can make the same statement for ourselves. We're both Detroit natives, but are currently living in Holland (Toledo) Ohio; we are sooo looking forward to getting settled in Florida.

Again, congratulations on "getting 'er done" but please don't use up all the fun before we get there!

Thanks for all the kind words, we very much are looking forward to the move and to living in Florida.

I got home last week and got out of the car in shorts, only to discover 68 degree weather, immediately my thoughts went back to the day before spent basking in the sun out near Boca Grande fishing with my relatives and how warm the breeze was compared to up north.

Sure made me want to turn right around and head back to SWFL!!!

Oh well, less than 30 days and counting!

Can I say I am so jealous!!!! We bought a lot in South Gulf Cove in June. Coming down in 11 days to hopefully meet with the builder and see when we can start building. So hopefully in the Spring we will move down full time from Maryland. In one way I am hoping for no snow, so that we do not have to shovel, but in another way hoping for lots of snow to make our move happen faster LOL.
Anyone know someone that wants to buy a house or two in Maryland??

Congrats Fox. You know I'm going to be thrilled to shake your hand and tip a beer.
I'm happy you found a house in an area you'll love. I read your words re: boat ramp.
House is on canal but no lift? Not like you'd want to invest in one being the renter, so no biggie.
I have a friend down the canal from me who loves to trailer his boat. We put in near El Jobean and fish the Myaaka cutoff, then pull out and put back in 15 minutes later in Placida and fish Gasparilla Pass. It saves him a 90 minute ride around to the ICW and a ton of gas. He's a mad man fisherman, who is a snow bird from PA. I will intro you.

I'm all for a get together. We can call it FOX AND FRIENDS! LOL.
Pack and drive safely. We'll see you soon friend.

Man, I think those are sweeeet, but out of my league and probably wouldn't go with the neighborhood rules. Nice though, thanks for the link!
