Up our way we've seen a few here and there but nothing like the last few seasons. That's good--I just switched from a black car to a white one!

Love bugs are harmless and usually are the worst in May. Then they disappear after about 6 weeks. I don't remember having problems with love bugs in the fall. Each area is different when it comes to bugs, but I don't see many around now and I live about 35 miles south of Sarasota.

Wife and I took the kid for a walk over the 41 bridge (connecting Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda) this morning and they were swarming us until we started gaining height over the water. Guess we won't be walking the bridge for a few weeks, until they're gone.

I forgot about those icky buggers, saw a couple of them today at Siesta Key Beach. Was thankful for the heads up having seen this post prior to my going out today. I didn't see any at Lido Beach yesterday, maybe because I was there in the evening for the sunset. which btw was stunningly beautiful.

Default Love bugs

i found an easy way or easier way to remove them from your car bounce or downey fabric sheets dip them in a bowl of water and wipe the bugs right off something in the sheets softens them and removes them much easier

I've only had one season of Love bug experience, but as I recall they especially LOVE white cars!

They are almost guaranteed to be here in both May and September.

yipes! they're here! I haven't encountered any large clouds yet but they are making themselves known. what I find really interesting, and it seems to be starting at the same time, are the dragonfly swarms. They seem to swarm in an area, maybe 20 of them all divebombing and swooping around. It was always exciting to see ONE dragonfly up north LOL this is wild! Not many fireflies here though, right?

I'm wondering, do the dragonflies eat the love bugs and is that why we are seeing both?? Just an observation on my part.
