I would appreciate any information you could share on the Alinari condos. I know the basic info about amenities, etc. I'm considering a seasonal rental and/or possible purchase.
Is the area safe for a single "mature" woman?

The city of Sarasota provides a statistical map of crimes at their site: Disclaimer Click on the link on the page.

As to Alinari, it's an upscale, high rise condominium complex that consists of 18 stories and 205 units on US 41, across from the bayfront park. It is just north of the downtown shopping district and restaurants. However, you may wish to drive thru the blocks just east of Alinari and form your own opinion of that area.

If you are unsure about Alinari, doing a seasonal rental first is an excellent idea.

There are currently 10 for sale listings in the MLS for Alinari. 8 are normal sales, one is a bank foreclosure and one is a short sale. There are 7 rentals listed in the MLS. Click the images below to see listings.

Alinari is adjacent to McCown Towers. The HOA fees in Alinari are quite high but the community offers a lot of amenities. It is about 1 miles to the nearest beach. Alinari used to have guest suites available for rent nightly. You may want to check into that and it will give you a chance to explore and see if you like it. If not, then I would do a seasonal rental and check it out before you buy. Talk to some of the owners, see how they like. Ask them questions since they personally live there. Maybe someone from the HOA can give you a tour or allow you to visit and talk to people.

The homeowner association is Alinari Condominium Association, Inc. and the property management company is Rampart Properties.
