Maybe it's touristy but we are going to the beach Christmas Eve day. It's our first Christmas here and I want to go. AND with weather like this why not? I'm sure it will be crowded but I really don't care. Anyone else going?

I went to the beach in Sarasota a few weeks ago and they weren't packed at all. Of course, I'm not a local, but I think the beaches only get packed during the summer months.

The beaches are much more crowded in the winter down here. Sometimes it is hard to find a parking spot. Also, during the holiday season the kids are out of school and many go to the beach. Have a wonderful time. The weather is perfect for it. Wish I could find time to go.

There's nothing touristy about it, the weather is beautiful, why not take advantage of visiting beach on such a lovely day, I might be doing the same thing, just waiting to see how much better my arm will be feeling by tomorrow.

I hope you and yours go and enjoy the day.

No, it's not touristy. We have a tradition each year of going to the beach after a late lunch on Christmas day and taking a long walk along the shoreline. Merry Christmas!

We were at Siesta Beach today around 11:30AM. It was crowded but still possible to get a parking space. By the time we left at 2PM, people were stalking us for our parking space. Even w. the lot filled, the beach was just beautiful. There were people in the water.

It's even more crowded on Christmas day. A couple years ago when I was visiting Mom down there for the holidays, I went to the beach on Christmas....just because! What an awesome way to spend a glorious, spiritual day....enjoying the beauty of nature.
