Thanks for that link. Interesting.
Southwest's operating costs are 60% than AirTrans, and 90% of their employees are Union. hunh. imagine that.

Oh well at least they tried to get Southwest to reconsider. Gee Southwest offered an apology. How Sweet!

Default Southwest

Not sure if it was posted on this thread, but I read somewhere recently that Southwest will have more non stop flights out of Ft. Myers to the northeast. Does anyone have knowledge of this ? (Can't get to talk to a human at SW Customer Service number, just a button menu.)

Thanks.

I fly from Atlanta to Sarasota every year to visit my parents and I can't stand what Southwest did. I always flew Air Tran over Delta because their prices were more competitive. They also offered satellite radio and a great in flight magazine. It's pretty easy for me to switch over to Delta but I hate Delta. But I hate Southwest even more, especially the cattle car boarding procedures, the complete lack of any amenities etc. And they seem to keep raising their fares from Atlanta. I also find that Delta's fares to Sarasota have gotten more expensive. Obviously, the times I can fly to Sarasota are more limited because of the loss of Air Tran, but I'm also more concerned about what this means economically for Sarasota. Southwest's decision to pull out makes no sense, and I will make every effort to avoid flying them in the future.
