Where to get best deals on appliances (Tampa, Sarasota: for sale, house)

We will be moving soon and the house will need several appliances. Where is the best place to get appliances in the Port Charlotte/North Port area? Refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. I have been told Lowes, but was wondering if there is anywhere else with better deals to be had. Thanks!

We recently (January...) were able to take advantage of some good deals at Rice's Appliance Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions

We saved about $400.00 on the Samsung fridge that Sue had her heart set on, and bought enough Kitchen Aid products to qualify for a $400.00 rebate from them too.

Last trip down, we bought a front=loading washer/dryer set at a substantial savings too.

Please don't rule out the local independent shop owners; the Big Box stores get more than their share of sales.

Talk to either Jason (in sales) or John Rice, and tell him that Sue & I referred you. They're definitely worth a look!

Shop around because they have different deals at different times. Lowes and Home Depot have scratch and dent sales too where you can get a significant amount off. Other places to check for sales are Sears and Bill Smith. HH Greg in Sarasota has ads all the time. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy their package deal where you get all of the appliances.

Home Depot is good and they will price match anybody else. Home Depot often has sales. But they do not carry Whirlpool brand. There is a HD in North Port. I bought several appliances from HD and got very good prices.

There is a good independent place in Sarasota called Mullets Appliances on Clark Road (aka Hwy 72). They do sales and service and even have parts and they have their own in house delivery service. They are very professional and have been in the business for years. We bought several appliances from them and were very happy. They have some commercial type models/lines that other places don't always carry. They will give you a good price also.

This time of year check out Sears in Sarasota Sq Mall, they replace a lot of their shop floor models and you can get some great half price deals there. I bought a Jenn Air double Oven for $1500, they had it in scratch and dent for 2 months for $1900, I made them an offer. The exact oven in a store in Tampa was for sale for $3200. They also have great deals on fridges. They will also price match and beat competitors by 5 or 10% of the difference. Also the scratch and dent section at the back in Jessups can bring in some great bargains, I bought my steam washer there for only $400 because it was red!!!!! Jessups have 3 stores, I believe one is near North Port but I went to the one on Bee Ridge RD. Good Luck with your move!

Thanks for all your responses. I usually frequented the smaller places back in PA and always seemed to get better delas than the big box places. I will check it out!

I'll also add Jessups to the list. They have 3 stores. Bradenton, Sarasota, and Venice. Recently bought a scratch and dent dishwasher. I saw no scratch or dent and the salesman could not find one either. They have subcontractors that will install and deliver and remove the old appliance. That guy charged $40-$20 less than any other store around to deliver, install and remove. If you look on the internet call before you go to the store to be sure they have it in stock. I was happy in the end giving my business to 2 small businesses and I saved close to $100.
