Fountain Lake is more in the Bayshore area. If it's 53rd Ave W - you're on the complete wrong side of town for the interstate. I'm thinking this is the complex near Red Lobster. My friend used to live in there and it wasn't bad, just don't go too much further east on 53rd, it will take you down to a really bad part of town. The immediate area is fine though, and also close to shopping and restaurants.

I feel that Bradenton East would be a better fit for you..I would run from living in Palmetto. No disrespect to anyone who lives there, I'm sure parts are very safe. However, it didn't get the nickname Palmghetto for nothing. Now, you can say the same for Braden-tucky lol. There seems to be more development in East Bradenton which shows it is a prospering area. Near I75 will take you right out to where you need to be. Unless transportation is an issue, than you would have to follow public transportation and find a safe place to go around that.
