My BFF is finally coming for a visit in a few weeks
She's never been to FL but has been to other tropical places (like Puerto Rico). Of course I want to show her what a great place I moved to...so, I need some help!
Ideas so far:
kayak the mangrove tunnels (planning on the Mote Tour, it's short though)
drum circle, probably at Nokomis
hope to see the sea turtles on siesta one night
anyone ever been to the Warm Mineral Springs? Is it worth a visit? I warned her it might be like "Cocoon" lol
Siesta Beach, then eat in Siesta Village
I realllllly need an awesome Friday night idea.
Any other ideas from Venice to Downtown Sarasota? I don't have a boat but it would be great to see manatees or dolphins. I figured we'd go hang by the jetties a few times during the week and hope to see some.
Selby Gardens? Spanish Point? I get in free with my Mote membership but haven't been there yet.

I would take her to Ceviche on Friday night. Their third floor rooftop deck is pretty awesome, the food is great, and you can go to other places downtown.

St Armands Circle. I think a ride up to Ana Maria Island and lunch there is always fun. Owen's Fish Camp for dinner.

thanks for the ideas. I was thinking about Ana Maria island but I think that's about an hour from here. If we go to Mote for the mangroves maybe we'll eat at Salty Dog - I have a gift card too! then get ice cream in St Armands on way home.
