How can there be so little about golf on this board? This is Sarasota!

Hidden gem courses?

Best instructors?

Great little consignment shops?

Anecdotes?

Anyway, I tore a tendon in my right hand a while back, so I had to switch to a baseball grip. This sent me from flirting with 80 to "breaking 90 consistently." Arg

Also, carrying Nina around (she's almost 30 pounds now!) has given me tendinitis in both elbows, so now I have to play in pain all the time. It's not like I can...gasp...QUIT.

Anyway, someone tell me something about golf around here that I do not already know, please.

It needs to be added as a General Forum under the sports section. They already have the following:
Auto Racing, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, College Football, Hockey, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Pro Football, Soccer

Here's something you can use....ALEVE! Trust me, I don't get to play very often anymore but I wouldn't consider it without the Aleve first. Welcome to the "age" of age.

BTW, those arm band things that you put on below the elbow do seem to help, not just when you wear them but (for me) after, too.

A tidbit: I noticed what looks to be a golf shop (they had bags of clubs outside) of all places Pinecraft.

As much as I used to golf, I haven't even broken out my clubs since we moved to Sarasota. While I was in the business, I'd get 18 hole playing lessons about three times a week. It was fabulous! Ticked off my hubby that my handicap is now lower than his.....

Already using Aleve, and already have the arm band brace thing (which does actually help a bit)

Sigh.

Shot an 88 at Legacy today.

That's pretty respectable in my book. Legacy can be a pretty tough course as I recall.

Legacy is a bear, and I actually lipped out three putts, so it was not an awful round.

That said, I am hitting driver straight and about 240-260, but for some reason my irons out of the fairway have become a nightmare. No trouble off a tee, but drop the ball on the ground, and it's anyone's guess where it's going.

Arg.

What? You mean you are supposed to KNOW where it's going? That can't be right...

<sigh> I know, I know.

Anyway, anyone who plays golf should have the Big Summer Card, if for no other reason than because you can play Palm Aire with it.
