Greetings, everyone!

I'm possibly moving into an apartment located in the Village of the Arts area, and I'm here to ask how safe it is there, and any other information I might need to know about the Downtown Bradenton area in general. I really would appreciate it because I have a low income job and can only afford cheap places like this at the moment.

I may well be wrong, but I have heard it wasn't the best area in town, but I don't know how you'll feel about it, it's kind of subjective.
Generally a cheap rent area isn't going to be the safest.
Would having roommates to help be an option? Then perhaps you could manage a better neighborhood.

This is a pretty good way to see what is going on. Asking for opinions is fine but hard facts are better, IMHO.

If you are IN the village itself, it's not too bad - they all look out for one another there, and it really is a neat area. However, it is surrounded by poor areas of town, not actually the highest crime area despite the overall appearance of the surrounding neighborhoods. I would suggest visiting at several times of day or night to see how comfortable you are there.

Downtown Bradenton is really up-and-coming - the downtown authority there works very hard to improve that neat little city. The RiverWalk is being built and will be finished later this year, a new hotel is going in (the old historic "Pink Palace" and restaurants and cafes are moving in with regularity. I personally love downtown Bradenton, it has a great -small-town feel. The new bus station is covered in bright artwork, and there are murals on some of the old buildings. Plus, being right on the waterfront gives it a wonderful ambiance.
