You are right. We have become a throwaway society. It's at this point there would be no harm in taking it apart and seeing if you can repair it yourself.

Have you tried one of the troubleshooting sites? I found a of couple sites, but I am sure there are more.

How to Repair a Nespresso | eHow.com

Also, is it under warranty still? You can contact an authorized repair person for that make/model. Sometimes they have you mail it in and then they either fix it or replace it. Sometimes there is an 800# on your manual. You can look up the manual online too.

Many thanks, I will try them. Unfortunately it's no longer under warranty so no use contacting the manufacturer.

take it apart. if they have the tamper proof screws, alot of times a flat bladed screw driver will work. worst case is you put a pile of parts in the trash instead of an intact non working coffee maker. you may find you just need to tighten something up inside.

maube try a google search re: problems with nespresso coffee makers

The Senior Friendship Center in Venice has a small appliance repair shop. Maybe they can take a look at it for you. Here is their web site: Senior Friendship Centers | Venice, Florida
