We are considering having our son tested for Pineview. Does anyone have recommendations on a Licensed psychologist in the venice/englewood area and how much it would cost to have this testing done?

Doesn't the Sarasota school system do their own testing for the gifted programs? When I lived in Pinellas county they tested my son, I didn't have to pay for that out of my pocket.

I always thought the schools did the testing. Depending upon how old your son is, he may have already been tested.

I think it's better to do private testing and have a full WISC-IV and WJ-III achievement testing done. I wouldn't have the school do testing unless you have to (budget, etc) I will message you a few people to get in touch with.

My son was tested through the Sarasota County school system. If you go outside, it costs between $500-900, or so I've been told. We were extremely pleased with the procedure. Supposedly, those tested through the school get "first right" of acceptance to PV.

Speak to your school counselor...they do testing at your request, it may take a while for results so I would get started-There is paperwork for approval to test, then the waiting period before you test (usually there are other kids ahead), the test, and then setting up the meeting to discuss educational plans...
