I wasn't talking about who's working; this "younger vibe" pertains to those under oh, let's say 40 years of age.

Who's working at the supermarkets and the gas stations? You might find some laid off mortgage brokers, construction engineers or the lady that sold you your last house. The Salvation Army has also become a different hotel these days.....

Default Older but liberal

All of these posts say Sarasota is for the older wealthy conservative.

So, I am older but liberal and not wealthy but have a good concept of lifestyle - champagne taste - so where is best?

Default not just conservative...

The city of Sarasota has a very liberal/progressive vibe. It is sarasota county that has a highest number of republicans. best wishes!

To be honest, St. Pete is a business town for me. What I mean by that is that it is to busy, to many businesses. Sarasota is more friendly then St. Pete and it has a variety of ages. Sarasota also has the Asolo, Van Wazel, and GWIZ for entertainment and Sarasota has PLENTY of beaches!! Sarasota also has a great downtown district and the Farmer's Market on Main Street every Saturday.

I would choose Sarasota for your... EVERYTHING!! I would suggest visiting this website: Official City Of Sarasota Website for info on Sarasota.
Sarasota has a young and old vibe- it's beautiful, wonderful, and exciting. I saw somebody right St. Pete- DON'T. I have had a aunt and a sister w/ children that lived in St. Pete and couldn't take it. As it the quote above, St. Pete is a business town, not much else.

Good Luck.

Default Ohio family looking to move also needs suggestions

I am a married man with a wife and two children. I am looking to accept a new position with an insurance company and will work out of my home. The areas that I will service will be North of Tampa, down to Sarasota, and as far over as Winter Haven. My wife and kids will remain in Ohio for one more year while my daughter finishes high school. We promised that we wouldn't make her move. When they do move down in JUne of 2009, my son will be entering high school as a freshman. My wife is in the medical field and will be working out of a hospital or physician's office. We are looking for a 3 to 4 bedroom home, 2 bath, garage and in ground pool in a SAFE neighborhood in a GREAT school district. I read a lot of the replies from the lady looking to move to Wesley Chapel. Income level will be around 90,000.00 so what can we expect to get with that ? We don't know much about costs, insurance, taxes, etc. Schools and Neighborhoods are very important to us. Can anyone else out there help this poor cold northern boy...... Thanks Scott. my personal e-mail is apdsab267@yahoo.com. I don't know if you need that or not, I am new to this.... Thanks again

Check the bars. That's where the young people seem to hang out...and that's why I avoid them.

Young people at bars seem to want to do only TWO things. Drink, and fight.

Oh, and they might get a little bit of "hitting on people" in a more romantic sense in there too.
