Hello all,
I am looking for some suggestions on apartment, townhouse, or condo complexes that offer rentals in the Bradenton area. I would like to be somewhat near the water. I am in my younger 20s and I will be moving down with my fiance sometime this summer for school. He is active duty military and is gone for extended periods of time, so I would like to be in an area that's reasonably safe for me to be in on my own. I am looking to keep it at or around $1200 a month including utilities, etc as well. I have a smaller (40lb) black lab who would be coming with me as well, so pet friendly is a must! I also already have a job lined up so now I just need to find a home

Thanks so much!

I'm also on my phone so please excuse any typos

MGR,

This is where me and my family are currently staying while we wait to close on our house. It is a great complex, close to 41 & 301. The riverwalk is new and during the summer & spring, they have live music outside. I also run the riverwalk in the morning. 2/2 would run you about $1200 a month

Alright, thank you for that. I'm bumping this to the top in hopes of more replies. I'm also looking at Mira Lagos, Champions Walk, and The Springs at Palma Sola. Are these in reasonably safe areas?

We lived at the "Vista at Palma Sola" apartments when we first moved to Bradenton. Nice area, close to the beach.

If Mira Lagos is the one on first street by the mall that used to be Manatee woods apts. I would advise against it, it's very ghetto and high crime. I wouldn't let a dog live there.

Just googled it, it is the one I thought.
Good Lord that place is rough. No one will even deliver pizza there.
I had to live there years ago, unless it has changed drastically, there were windows shot out, constant burglaries. I couldn't stay.

Definitely cross off Mira Lagos!

The recommendation for the one by the Riverwalk is ideal. I would definitely look into that one.

I just moved out of Bradenton after 4 yrs there & may I suggest stay on the West side of town which is near the beach. Champions Walk gets a NO as does Mira Lagos cannot recommend Palm Cove of Bradenton either (all that glitters is not gold) Sawgrass Cove down the block from Palm Cove hmmmm NO.. Here's a website where you can search apartments by name, town, location etc Apartment Ratings :: The leading source of apartment reviews by renters for renters. "Please take what you read there seriously & some comments unfortunately are done by the apartment office staff".. I think someone recommended 210 Watermark they are nice & in a nice area.. Don't believe everything you read or see in the apartment ads cause "this is Florida" & seeing is believing.. Been in Florida 20 yrs & living in apartments & I still shake my head cause I get stuck everytime.. Some apartments have weight limits on pets so be prepared for that & the upfront pet fees and/or monthly pet rent some places charge both..

For a condo rental you might try Palms of Cortez they are on 51st & Cortez they are gated & I do mean gated & closed/locked all the time.

Except as I said stay away from Sawgrass Cove & Palm Cove of Bradenton both are across the street from the Palms of Cortez.. I lived in both Sawgrass & Palm Cove & couldn't with a clear heart recommend either.. Unless of course you absolutely love our little Florida Palmetto bugs (roaches) & unbelievable monthly water bills which is why I moved.. In 20 yrs of living in Florida I never had a bug problem until I moved into Palm Cove & then there's the magical monthly water/sewer bill unbelievable for one person.. Perico Island Apartments on Bristol Bay Drive are nice but too pricey for me, however if you want to be on the water Perico's the place..

Here's the website for Perico with the water in your backyard...
