Don't know the laws, but there is a guy who owns something like that up here with one of the large historic homes. It's a vacation type rental, maybe even weekly, not sure. Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to do.
ETA: A B & B is a bit different from just a vacation rental, and you better check with the HOA here to see if that is allowed. They can't stop people from renting homes out, but a B & B is like a hotel so rules would be more stringent I think.

You are correct, Whitfield is Manatee County. Also want to add that I don't believe a B & B would be allowed here, since it is considered commercial use, and this is all zoned residential.
