We have tons of little holes and this one dinner plate sized hole, really think that ours is Dillos, don't know about the OP. Our RC airfield had hogs last year and they did a lot of damage, what I have isn't the same.

Dillos and possums don't rip up lawns. They bore holes about 3" in diameter looking for grubs.

Below is the Armadillo I found in my yard when I was coming home from walking my dog one morning. (click on photo to view larger) We have had them ever since we have moved here. They usually just dig around our oak trees. Not real big holes, just enough to get their nose down in to eat grubs and other bugs (is what the pest control company said). Traps or armadillo deterrant are the only things I know of to get rid of them, or a fence.

Anyone have any advice to make them go away? Or at least move onto my neighbors side of the property.

Someone told me there were almost blind so easy to trap but haven't had any luck with that yet. I've read online about coffee grinds and urine but wondered if anybody has any tried and true methods....
My daughter had a couple of them, so she sprayed them with the hose a couple of times, and they haven't come back. It's worth a try?

TY all for the posts. I have some stuff to try. I've got my hose, coffee, urine, mothballs trap and my 22. I think I saw in my HOA it's OK to use the 22 after 8pm. I know I'm from the big old city and hate the outdoors but I'm fairly certain it wasn't a hog I saw. This is it:

That's an Armadillo right? Well whatever it is - that is what has dug mega holes next to the front bushes. Unless something else dug the hole and it's just taken up residence there.

Naaaa don't worry about it, we have had Dillos since we moved in two and a half years ago. No biggie. I may urinate on them tonight!

Apparently they don't mind dog urine.

And yes, you are correct, that is a dillo, not a hog!!!

Uh oh, that armadillo is busted! Or is he? I enlarged your photo and discovered that he only looks like an armadillo. The truth lies beneath.....
