Well Bradentucky, as we call it, has nice areas. If you can afford to stay near the water NW bradenton is nice as is East bradenton (a bit further from the beach.) East offers nice access to I75 also. However, the prices for renting are a bit high since you are near the water. West Bradenton is where we ended up but will NOT purchase in the area (we are renting). We just moved a year ago so we wanted to be very cautious in purchasing..

Looking to move to Lakewood Ranch (Panther Ridge Preserves) or other Lakewood Ranch communities
I am aware that homes and taxes are pricey. My main concern is family safety and upmost quality education for my children.
Any information (positive or negative) would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Lakewood Ranch is a pretty safe community, IMO. Panther Ridge is a very nice. There was a murder in Lakewood this year but it was family related, stepmother and step son. Other than that I don't know of any major crime in Lakewood. Lakewood has their own school(s). Sarasota county school system as a whole is excellent. My two older children are in Sarasota county public schools and we love it. They both attend Pine View a public gifted school in Osprey. If you're looking for a quality school I would check out that school, it was ranked number six in the nation.

Leelee,
What do you mean there is nothing for children to do after school in Bradenton? What things are you looking for?
I was born and raised here and now am raising two children here and there is as much afterschool activities here as anywhere else. My children are involved in Cheerleading, Baseball, Soccer, gymnastics, church, music, etc...
I live NW/W Bradenton and we love our area. Desoto Memorial, Beaches, GT Bray Park, YMCA are just some of the locations we visit on a regular basis. Also they are adding additional parks off the causway and off 75th and 53rd.

Lived in Bradenton and really liked it before I moved to the PNW in May. Moving back in next 3 months.

Drove by a bunch of gated communities off SR 70 off 51st Ave the other day. Not that I'd ever want to live in one.
