I'm glad that they were able to arrest somebody in that horrible raping! It's getting rough here, that's for sure!!

I've only been to Bradenton two times in the twelve years I've lived here. (I live in sarasota county) and you couldn't pay me to ever go back there. I was scared out of my mind.

To be honest, Bradenton is becoming a small Miami or small Tampa!!

I can't say I know the area, I'm not sure what part I was in, but it was run down, I saw gang writing, and I was genuinely scared to stop anywhere. I know I didn't venture far from Rt 41. I was only giving a friend a ride up there, and I refused to stop anywhere until I got into Sarasota. I also accidently ended up in a very bad part of Miami on my way down to the keys once, same scared feeling. Tampa too, so I'm in agreement with you Suncoast Guy.

LOL, right on! Although I should say the crime around here is getting worse too. I used to not worry about locking doors but this town has grown so much, more people, more crime. They just keep on building those gated communities, like that white poll is going to keep them safe.

The Entire City of Bradenton ?
I would respectfully call this pure hyperbole...
and I live in Sarasota County....
Keep in mind some of the most violent recent crime, i.e. murders
attacks, etc....have happened in SARASOTA, not exclusively
Manatee County...
Keep in mind the City of Bradenton is only about 15 SQUARE MILES
That is very very small.
Manatee County is about 700 suqare miles inclusive of the city of course.
It's nothing like keepings things in a proper and accurate perspective

Thank you for being so "prime" and "proper". EVERYTHING that you posted above I already know. "Keep in mind the City of Bradenton is only about 15 SQUARE MILES", have you ever thought that those 15 SQUARE MILES are the areas that have a lot of the drug problems, so when I said: "That could be described as the entire city of Bradenton!!", maybe that's what I meant!

I'm sorry, I've read this post over and over and I am a bit confused.
I understand a gated community but what do you mean by a white poll?
I'm not being smart, I truly don't know what that is.
Thanks!

You do not make your point any clearer by using bold for the entire message. That's just annoying. The language you use makes clear your emphasis. The bold comes across as shouting and no one wants to hear anyone shouting. Please refrain from doing that in the future. =)
As for Bethlehem, you are behind the times. My family is FROM that area (Easton, Allentown, Bethlehem) and most parts of Bethlehem have gone fairly upscale. Matter of fact, even in this economy the housing is MUCH more expensive than in Bradenton. Easton and parts of Palmer Twsp are about even or even less, but most parts of Bethlehem are significantly more.
